About the Argonauts

9,999 skeletons, stored complete inside an Ethereum contract — not a link to a file on somebody’s server, the artwork itself, in the contract. They are the work of ACK, a Muse Facktory production.

They are still being made

The artist has revised the collection 4 times since launch. A revision is one transaction: a new renderer is deployed and the contract is pointed at it, which makes every token re-render at once.

Because the art lives in the contract, any past version is still readable — asking an archive node for tokenURI at an old block returns the token exactly as it was then. That is where the version icons and timelines on every token page come from.

Burning

A burned Argonaut is not deleted. It still renders, charred, and gains a trait that did not exist before: Fate = Burned. 22 have been burned so far.

Minting is open

9,264 of 9,999 exist so far. The rest have not been minted yet.

The print

Every Argonaut is a print as well as a token. A holder can order the physical one, and when they do the token says so: the Print trait turns from Unclaimed to Claimed. It is the one thing on an Argonaut that a holder changes rather than the artist, and it moves independently of the revisions above.
